The Scotia Village Water Works, a public community water system under the Village Department of Public Works, provides water for about 12,800 residents living in the area of Village of Scotia, New York. Established in 1904, the Scotia Village Water Works System is currently obtaining its supply from a groundwater source: four drilled wells that draw water from the Great Flats Aquifer also referred to as the Schenectady Aquifer.
