Founded in 1858, the Tell City Water Department System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily 11 wells that drill into the freshwater aquifer underneath the Ohio River. Additionally, the system's pipeline is approximately 154,500 feet long and runs throughout the service area.
