The Wallkill Consolidated Water District provides water for about 18,450 people living in the Wallkill area, Orange County, New York. The Wallkill Consolidated Water District collects water from twenty-one groundwater wells varying from 8 to 24 in diameter and 21 to 62  feet deep. The wells draw water from the Wallkill River. The water is then pumped to the treatment plant where chlorine and potassium permanganate are added.
