The Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority - Marion-Arcadia-Sodus Consolidated Service Area supplies water to about 5,400 residents of the Cities of Marion, Acadia, and Sodus in New York. Founded in 1987, Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority provides the Marion-Arcadia-Sodus Consolidated Service Area with water from the Town of Williamson. The Town treats water from Lake Ontario, a part of the Great Lakes system, through a cast iron pipe. The water is treated with chlorine to prevent the growth of Zebra Mussels and kill other micro-organisms. The water also undergoes chemical coagulation, sedimentation, filtration, and fluoridation to improve the quality.
