The Arcadia-Lyons Consolidated Service Area of the Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority supplies water to 1917 connections and 5,751 residents in the Lyons area of Wayne County, New York. Founded in 1987, the Wayne County Water & Sewer Authority provides the customers in Arcadia-Lyons Consolidated Service Area with water from the Village of Newark, which sources water from Canandaigua Lake, which is approximately 16.4 square miles in surface area with about 174 square miles watershed. The water is treated at the Village's water treatment plant at 1708 Freshour Road in Shortsville. Treatment processes include pre-chlorination to control the growth of Zebra Mussels, filtration, disinfection, and fluoridation.
