Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 127 supplies water to about 5,147 residents of Houston, Texas. Founded in 1975, Harris County Municipal Utility District 127 purchases water from the West Harris County Regional Water Authority, which buys from the City of Houston. The City's water comes from Lake Houston in the San Jacinto River, Lake Conroe, and Lake Livingston, and the surface water undergoes filtration and treatment processes to improve its quality. Harris County MUD 127 also obtains water from groundwater wells that pump from the Chicot Aquifer.
