The Town of Newburgh Consolidated Water District’s (TONCWD) provides water for about 23,000 residents living in the Newburgh area, New York. Established in 1865, the Newburgh Consolidated Water District obtains its supply from two surface water sources: Chadwick Lake Reservoir and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Delaware Aqueduct. The Delaware Aqueduct supply is taken from New York City’s Delaware Watershed, west of the Hudson River, which is comprised of four large reservoirs in the Catskill region.
