The Evergreen Metropolitan District, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works, provides water for about 15,750 residents living in the area of Evergreen, an unincorporated town and a census-designated place located in and governed by Jefferson County, Colorado. Established in 1979, the Evergreen Metropolitan District collects water from a surface water source, particularly the Evergreen Lake located at the base of the Upper Bear Creek Watershed.
