The City of Fountain Water, under the City Utilities Department, provides water for about 29,000 residents living in the Fountain area, Colorado. Established in 1859, the City of Fountain Utilities Department currently obtains its supply via the purchase of treated surface water from Fountain Valley Authority, which uses Pueblo Reservoir; and four city-owned groundwater wells that draw from local aquifers in downtown Fountain.
