The Northern Kentucky Water District (NKWD) provides water for about 199,460 residents living in the Erlanger area, or approximately 300,000 people collectively in Campbell and Kenton counties, and portions of Boone, Grant and Pendleton counties. Established in 1997, the Northern Kentucky Water District draws supply from surface water sources, the Ohio River and Licking River.
