The Christian County Water District, a public community water system governed by the original board of commissioners under the Local Government, provides water for about 15,841 residents living in Hopkinsville, the home rule-class city in and the county seat of Christian County, Kentucky. Established in 1967, the Christian County Water District System currently purchases its supply from three sources. Barkley Lake Water District, treated surface water drawn from Barkley Lake, Todd County Water District, treated water from the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission, and Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, has treated surface water drawn from Barkley Lake, the North and the South Quarry.
