The City of Longmont Water Division, under the City Public Works & Natural Resources Department, provides water for about 87,850 residents living in the Longmont area, Colorado. Established in 1885, the Longmont City Water collects supply from all surface water sources: 49% from the St. Vrain Creek watershed, and the rest of 51% from the Colorado and Fraser Rivers in Grand County, via the Colorado-Big Thompson (C-BT) project, operated by the Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District.
