The City of Florence Water, under the City Public Services Department, provides water for about 29,351 residents living in the Florence area, Kentucky. Established in 1830, the City of Florence Water currently obtains its supply via purchase from the Boone-Florence Water Commission. The Boone-Florence Water Commission, in turn, receives its water from Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW), which draws surface water from the Ohio River.
