Forney Lake Water Supply Corporation is a public community water system under the local government that provides water to about 9,207 residents living in Rockwall, which is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex in Rockwall County, Texas. Founded in 1854, the Forney Lake Water Supply Corporation System currently purchases its supply from the North Texas Municipal Water District. Additionally, surface water is drawn from six reservoirs, namely: Lavon Lake Reservoir at Collin County, Jim Chapman Lake Reservoir at Hopkins and Delta Counties, Lake Texoma Reservoir at Grayson County, Lake Tawakoni Reservoir at Hunt, Rains, and Can Zandt Counties; and the East Fork Raw Water Supply Project (Wetland) at Kaufman County.
