The City of Rockwall Water, a public community water system under the City Department of Public Works – Water Division, provides water for about 43,750 residents living in the area of Rockwall, Texas. Established in 1854, the Rockwall Water System is currently obtaining its supply from surface water sources via purchase from North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD). This water is a blend of the following reservoirs: Lavon located in Collin County, Jim Chapman located in Hopkins and Delta Counties, Texoma located in Grayson County, Tawakoni located in Hunt, Rains, and Van Zandt Counties and East Fork Raw Water Supply Project (Wetland) located in Kaufman County.
