The Town of Castle Rock Water provides water for about 87,888 residents living in the area of Castle Rock, Colorado. Established in 1900, the Castle Rock Water currently obtains its supply from 52 deep groundwater wells that pump water from the Denver Basin, a geologic formation with four principal aquifers: the Dawson, Denver, Arapahoe, and the deepest of the four, the Laramie-Fox Hills. The Town also has 13 shallow alluvial wells, a surface water diversion along East Plum Creek and imported WISE water.
