City of Lakewood Water, a public community water system under the Department of Public Works, provides water to about 6,000 residents living in Lakewood, Jefferson County, Colorado. Founded in 1889, the City of Lakewood Water System currently obtains its supply from the South Platte River, Dillon Reservoir, and Fraser River. Denver Water is stored in five mountain reservoirs: Antero Reservoir, Eleven Mile Canyon Reservoir, Cheesman Reservoir, Dillon Reservoir, and Gross Reservoir.
