The Northern Douglas County Water & Sanitation District supplies water to about 6,160 residents of Greenwood Village in Douglas County. Founded in 1980, Northern Douglas County Water obtains water from the Centennial Water & Sanitation District, which draws from different sources. These include groundwater wells in Denver Basin aquifers, including Denver, Arapahoe, Laramie - Fox Hills, and South Platte River alluvium.  Raw surface water is drawn from Plum Creek, Dad Clark Gulch, South Platte River, South Platte Reservoir, McLellan Reservoir, and Chatfield Reservoir. The water is disinfected with chloramine to control microbes. The District also has a surface water Consecutive Connection with several Water System Master Meters.
