Simpson County Water District, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 8,946 residents in Franklin, Simpson County, Kentucky. Founded in 1964, the Simpson County Water District System currently purchases its supply from the White House Utility District (WHUD). Water is drawn from Old Hickory Lake by going to the 350-mile-long water mains with diameters ranging from 4 to 16 inches through two delivery points. Additionally, a 260-square-mile area is serviced by Simpson Water, which manages more than 395 miles of pipeline, eight pumping stations, and seven tanks, using an average of 1 million gallons of water daily.
