The Henderson County Water District (HCWD), a public community water system under the County Department of Henderson County Water and Sewer, provides water for about 19,008 residents living in the area of Henderson, Kentucky. Established in 1966, the Henderson County Water District System is currently obtaining its supply as purchased from the Henderson Water Utility (HWU). HWU treats surface water from the Ohio and Green Rivers.
