The Stonegate Village Metropolitan District (SVMD), a public community water system, provides water for about 15,071 residents living in the area of Parker, Colorado, a home rule municipality in Douglas County. Established in 1981, Stonegate Metro District Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, primarily 13 groundwater wells drilled into several Denver Basin aquifers deep below the District; and purchased surface water from WISE, which stands for Water, Infrastructure and Supply Efficiency, a regional partnership that provides new supply by combining unused capacities in Aurora Water’s Prairie Waters Project with unused water supplies from Denver and Aurora.
