Henry County Water Authority is a public community water system governed by a three-member Board of Directors appointed by the County Commission to provide water to about 10,902 residents living in Abbeville, a city and, at the same time, the county seat of the County of Henry in the south part of Alabama. Founded in 1977, Henry County Water Authority System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily five wells that drill into the Ripley Aquifer and Tuscaloosa Formation underneath the area.
