The American Water - Fort Rucker, owned and operated by American Water’s Military Services Group under the Utilities Privatization program, is granted since 2003 a 50-year contract to provide water and wastewater services to military communities around the country including about 13,880 residents living in Fort Rucker, a U.S. Army post located in Dale County, Alabama. Fort Rucker System currently obtains its supply of groundwater from seven wells located in the Tuscahoma Sand, Providence Sand, Clayton, Ripley, and Nanafalia aquifers.
