The Guntersville Water Works & Sewer Board, public community water and sewer system, provides water for about 12,612 residents living in the area of Guntersville, a city in and the county seat of Marshall County, Alabama. Established in 1988, Guntersville Water System currently obtains its supply from a blend of sources, primarily surface water from the Tennessee River Brown’s Creek embayment on Lake Guntersville at Sunset Treatment Plant, and one groundwater well. Moreover, additional surface water from Short Creek is purchased from MUB-Albertville to supply the customers on Sand Mountain.
