The Sumiton Water and Gas Board provides water services to about 5,994 residents living in the Sumiton area of Walker County, Alabama. Water sources include rivers, lakes, streams, ponds, reservoirs, springs, and wells. Sumiton Water Department purchases water from the Jasper Water Works and Sewer Board, which treats surface water from the Mulberry Fork of the Warrior River. The water is pumped to the Laye-Williams Water Treatment Plant and chemically treated to improve the quality.
