The City of Elba provides water services to about 5,361 residents living in the Elba area of Coffee County, Alabama. The City of Elba Utilities collects water from four wells pumping up to 2,143 GPM groundwater from the Clayton Aquifer, and it has a connection with Coffee County for backup supply. The water is disinfected with chlorine to prevent microbial contamination. The Water Department operates storage tanks of 1.5 million gallons and a distribution system of approximately 30 miles of PVC line and 65 miles of cast iron pipe.
