The Coffee County Water Authority supplies water to about 6,000 residents in Elba and New Brockton Cities of Alabama. Coffee County Water Authority collects water from five groundwater wells drawing from the Clayton Aquifer and purchases additional water from Ariton Water to serve Co. Roads 117 and 126 areas, Elba Water Works for a small area on County Rd 410, Enterprise Water for Co. Roads 615, 616, & 541, and South Crenshaw Water to serve people on Hwy 87. The water is disinfected with chlorine and stored in four storage tanks that can hold 500,000 gallons. The Water Authority has connections with Pike County, Covington County, and New Brockton for backup supplies.

Under the authority of the Safe Drinking Water Act, the EPA requires Coffee County Water Authority to assess local water quality each year and distribute a Consumer Confidence Water Quality Report.
