The Town of Double Springs Water & Sewer Board provides water services to about 6,024 residents in the Double Springs area of Winston County, Alabama. Double Springs Utility purchases most of its water from Arley Water Works in Arley, which treats surface water from Smith Lake. Additional water is purchased from the City of Haleyville Water Works and Sewer Board in Haleyville, which in turn buys from the Upper Bear Creek Water, Sewer, and Fire Protection District, which treats surface water from the Upper Bear Creek reservoir. The water is treated with National Safety Foundation-approved chemicals, including chlorine used for disinfection.
