The Montevallo Water Works & Sewer Department provides water service to about 9,741 residents of Shelby County who live in Montevallo City, Alabama. The Water Department obtains water from two groundwater wells producing from the Cambrian-Ordivician Aquifer, a spring source from Cambrian Brierfield Dolomite Aquifer, and the Chilton County Water Authority. The water is disinfected with chlorine and stored in tanks.
