City of New Hope Water, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 6,024 residents living in New Hope, Madison County, Alabama. Founded in 1832, the City of New Hope Water System currently purchases its supply from Huntsville Utilities and obtains water from two sources. First, a surface water source is drawn from the Tennessee River, which is then treated and processed at the South Parkway, Southwest, and Southeast Treatment Plants. Second source: groundwater sources, primarily wells, such as the Lincoln and Dallas Well Treatment Plant and Williams Well, that drill into the Limestone Aquifers underneath the area. Furthermore, emergency supplies are also purchased from the Owens Cross Roads Water Authority, groundwater sources, primarily two wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area, and an emergency supply from Huntsville Utilities.
