The Wetumpka Water Works & Sewer Board, a public community water system under the local government, provides water to about 9,930 residents living in Wetumpka, a city in and the county seat of Elmore County, Alabama. Founded in 1834, the Wetumpka Water Works & Sewer Board System currently purchases its supply from three sources: the Central Elmore Water Authority, which draws from Lake Martin; the Five Star Water Supply District, drawn from Lake Jordan; and the Montgomery Water Works, drawn from the Tallapoosa River.
