Wilcox County Water & Sewer District (WCWSD), a public community water system under the Wilcox County Commission's appointed five-member board, provides water to about 6,144 residents living in Camden, Wilcox County, Alabama. Founded in 2017, the WCWSD System currently obtains its supply from groundwater sources, primarily wells that drill into the aquifer underneath the area. The system has four storage tanks with a total capacity of 800,000 gallons, five wells with a combined flow rate of 530 gallons per minute, and four booster pump stations with a combined flow rate of 555 gallons per minute. About 310 miles of PVC water main and four miles of cast/ductile iron water main make up the WCWSD distribution system. An interconnection with the Camden Water system is available for both selling and purchasing on a continuous basis. Furthermore, WCWSD has a continuous arrangement to purchase water from Pine Hill and the Butler County Water System.
