Florence has multiple water providers: City Of Florence Water, West Lauderdale Water Authority, and Greenhill Water, view all. This page provides information about Greenhill Water.

The Greenhill Water & Fire Protection Authority provides water services to about 8,214 residents of Florence and Greenhill in Lauderdale County. The Water Department purchases half of its water from Florence Water & Sewer Department and supplements it with water from two groundwater wells pumping from the Tuscumbia/Fort Payne Aquifer. The Florence water is a blend of treated surface water and groundwater from the Tennessee River, Cypress Creek, and two wells in the Killen and Center Star areas. To improve its quality, the water is chemically treated with chlorine, caustic soda, aqua gold, fluoride, lime, potassium permanganate, and alum.
