The Poarch Creek Indians Utilities Authority - West provides water services to about 5,900 residents living in the Atmore area of Escambia County, Alabama. Founded in 1990, Poarch Creek Utilities collects water from two groundwater wells drawing from the Miocene Formation and has Interconnections with West Escambia Utilities. The water is stored in two storage tanks of 1.2 million gallons capacity and treated through chlorination, fluoridation, and pH adjustment processes to improve its quality before distribution.
